Kitchen garden of the future

Ode to the bees

As a player in the fields of innovation, sustainability and forward-thinking Bulo demonstrated design and architecture have much more in common than one would expect at first glance. Our head office is now home to the kitchen garden of the future and about a dozen bee hyves. After our harvest Vegetables Chef Frank Fol takes us at hand and the rest is sheer magic. The Bulo bees represent innovation, local production a preservation of fine, economical products.

"We enter into combat with the throwaway society by making things with our hands"

At Bulo we nurture a passion for wood, a warm material in a world of cold automation, where compromise and pragmatic reasoning are endemic. Wood continues to be stubbornly itself: a living material that does not permit itself to be coerced. It is wood itself that does the coercing: it forces you to handle it with care. At a time when raw materials and crops are wilting under pressure from our industrial masses, we find wood to be a refuge. Anyone who cherishes wood cherishes craftsmanship.

Hollow phrases mean nothing to a person who works with wood. We enter into combat with the throwaway society by making things with our hands, even the food on our tables.
