Since November students and graduates Interior and Furniture design of the Thomas More Hogeschool in Mechelen have been working with the famous butterfly chair of Arne Jacobsen. They’ve been handed shells that didn’t meet the quality standards of the Danish manufacturer Fritz Hansen.
The winning design by Lauren Fonteyn and Jonas Neo Fabrywas presented in Bulo’s Werkplaats in Mechelen. They used the shells of the iconic chair to make a selection of purses and bags.
The event was part of “Mechelen Meubelen 2.0” organised by the city of Mechelen and interior and design of Thomas More Hogeschool.
The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Saturday up until Saturday March 29 from 10am – 5pm.
