“Imagine a meeting room full of Easy Riders. Could you stay serious in there?”
Danny Venlet was born in Victoria, Australia, from Dutch parentage and studied Interior Design at the Sint-Lucas Institute for Architecture and Visual Arts in Brussels. In Australia, he worked as an independent designer and interior architect, with a series of high-profile projects in his name. Following his cooperation with Neil Burley in 1988 and Marc Newson from 1998 to 1990, he opened up his own studio in Brussels, where he currently works on projects all over the world.
Venlet’s work is characterised by its contemporary international style – an interaction between art, sculpture and function. These objects give a new description to the space in which they are placed – with respect and a sense of humour.
